Week 3 (FYP 1)

Activity :

1. Continue with selecting suitable project topic.
2. Introductory FYP 1 Briefing.


Objective :

1. To understand more on the EEG device
2. To get a clearer picture on the FYP 1 and to get a proper timeline in progressing the project.

Content/Procedure :

Introductory FYP 1 Briefing

20/2/2019 (Wednesday)

3pm - 5pm

Venue : TTL 2

During the session, we were briefed on the importance of selecting the correct supervisor and project title. The speaker also asked for those who has not yet find any supervisor nor topic to urge in doing that. The presentation is set to be in Week 13.

         Apart from that, I have also make further research on the EEG wheelchair. In order to succeed in this project, I have to first understand on the Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) system. My supervisor also suggested for me to build my own EEG mindwave device instead of buying one and thats the key part in this project.

Conclusion : 

So technically on this week, I spend a lot of time reading articles in order to understand more on the EEG device and interfacing it. I have also decided to let go of the other topics and proceed with EEG-Controlled wheelchair.

Week 2 (FYP 1)

Activity :

Find a potential supervisor.

Objective :

To find a suitable lecturer to be my FYP supervisor that can help me with my project.

Content/Procedure :

I have met and consult with few lecturers and also asked for their opinion on which topic should I proceed with my FYP. Most of them are from Medical Electronics Section since i am a Medical Electronics student and some of them are my previous subject lecturer. They are ;

1. Dr. Ahmad Sabry Mohamad.
2. Dr. Gan Hon Seng
3. Madam Siti Afifah Mohsim

Conclusion : 

After few times meeting them and proposing my topics, i have decided to take Madam Siti Afifah as my supervisor. She is also interested on one my proposed topic which is the "EEG-Controlled Wheelchair" and requested me to look for more information regarding the topic.

Week 1 (FYP 1)

Activity :

Surveying title for Final Year Project

Objective :

To prepare some titles before proposing to my supervisor.

Content/Procedure :

I have surveyed some relevant website to help me think either to continue and improvise my previous diploma project (Heart Rate Measurement through Fingertip) or to propose a new one. I also do some research on new topics which are ;

1. IOT based Child Monitoring System Using Android Smartphone App.
2. Voice Automated Room System.
3. IOT based Air Quality Monitoring.
4. Blind Stick using Ultrasonic Sensor and Voice Announcement.

Conclusion :

In conclusion, there are few topics that catch my interest and need to be digged deeper. Hence, i would like to wait until i meet my supervisor to help me selecting the suitable topic.
